The World According to China by Elizabeth Economy

This book’s title is The World According to China. I found this book interesting. China does look at life very differently than the western world. China does seem to have a long term strategy for world domination. Throughout history, China has bullied its neighbors. It considered itself the Middle Kingdom, the land between heaven and earth. Look how quickly Vietnam made friends with the Americans after the Vietnam war. They did it as soon as they could because of their history of being bullied by China.

Peter TY Cheung of University of Hong Kong review of this book is critical and interesting on the Pacific Affairs of the University of British Columbia site. There is another long review by John West of the Australian Institute of International Affairs . The Council on Foreign Relations gives a short review of this book and a number of other short reviews.

Peter Robinson on Uncommon Knowledge of the Hoover Institution interviews Elizabeth Economy on this book. It is a very interesting interview. For the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, Steve Orlins interviews Elizabeth Economy about her book and her thoughts on China.

World Affairs Councils of America has Bill Clifford interviewing Elizabeth Economy. I wanted to listen to Elizabeth Economy that is more recent. Here Elizabeth Economy interviews Logan Wright in 2026.
